REGISTERED SKILLED CLINICAL NURSING SPECIALIST (RSCNS)

A Registered Skilled Clinical Nursing Specialist (RSCNS) is a health care employee excels in practical and clinical patient care, following the appropriate guidelines and protocols pertaining to Adult and Pediatric Phlebotomy, EKG, Telemetry, Sutures and IV.  Designee's of this credential are upheld to the high standards advanced nursing practices, with the goal of reducing pre-examination and pre-analytical errors.

 

You must always be aware of the state regulations and the policies of the facility at which you are working. In order to apply for this examination, prior written approval from your facility/employer is required. The RSCNS may be required to supervised by a BSRN, NP, PA, DO or MD, or as applicable by law or facility bylaws.
