REGISTERED EKG SPECIALIST (RES)
A Registered EKG Specialist (RES) is classified among cardiovascular technicians, and healthcare professionals specializing in administering tests on the cardiovascular system to identify electrical conduction rhythms. Proficiency in various EKG/ECG machines, along with a foundational comprehension of arrhythmia interpretation, telemetry, non-invasive stress testing, and the recognition of myocardial infarction (MI), is imperative for individuals in this role.
Academic requirements:
You are required to complete a minimum of 300 academic classroom hours, along with a clinical practicum consisting of at least 30 EKGs performed using various EKG machines and patient positions, as outlined below:
